The Handicap market is used to balance the odds between two teams or players by giving one a virtual advantage or disadvantage before the match starts. It is used to level the playing field between a favorite and an underdog by granting a fictional goal or point advantage before the match begins.
How does the Handicap market work?
When you place a bet with a handicap (either “+” or “–”), the selected team or player begins the match with that virtual adjustment to the score. For your bet to win, the adjusted result—after adding or subtracting the handicap—must favor your selection.
Example:
If you bet on Manchester United -1, the team starts with a one-goal disadvantage.
If Manchester United wins by 2 goals or more: Your bet wins.
If they win by 1 goal, draw, or lose: Your bet loses.
The handicap applies to the final match score, and the bet is settled based on that adjusted result.
What types of Handicap bets are available?
On our platform, we offer two main types:
Asian Handicap: Eliminates the possibility of a draw and offers flexible results like partial wins or refunds.
European Handicap: A "Three-way" market (1X2) that uses only whole numbers and includes the draw as an option.
