Although both options serve to restrict access to your account, they differ significantly in purpose and effect.

Account Closure
Account closure is typically a temporary measure and applies in the following cases:
- Take‑a‑Break
- Temporary Self‑Exclusion via Betano Account
- Province-wide Self‑Exclusion (BetGuard)
To activate Self‑Exclusion or Take a Break, go to My Account → Profile → Player Protection.
Account & Data Deletion
Account deletion is a permanent action, performed only at your request:
- Your account will be permanently closed
- You will not be able to log in again or open a new account
- Your personal data will be erased in accordance with our data retention policy
To request account deletion, follow this path: Privacy Notice → § 5.2 → Right to erasure → Account Deletion → Submit request.
If you don't have access to the account, send an email request to the responsible department via dpo-office@betano.ca, using your registered email address and including your username.
